CAD Youths is a not-for-profit organisation founded as a voice, help and support for youths who are unemployed in Canada particularly Black and underrepresented youths not in employment, education or training (NEETs).
Our main objective is to reduce youth unemployment, provide employment and training solutions for youth offenders and implement ant-crimes and anti-gang initiatives in the community.
Government and independent statistical analysis in Canada show that unemployment figures among Black and underrepresented youths in Canada in on the increase and with huge disparity when compared to employment rates of white youths. Our mission is to identify the causes and find solutions through multi-faceted initiatives designed to address not just the unemployment problems but the root causes and the adverse socio-economic impacts.

OUR GOAL
To assist and support Black and underrepresented youths by creating a conducive environment to develop into successful, independent, socially and economically equipped individuals and able to get job, keep job and or thrive in business or chosen career path. To decrease the participation of Black and underrepresented youths in the criminal justice system through refocusing mindsets, perceptions, interest and priorities. In general, we will provide needed training, support and assistance including wrapround support.
CAD Youths aims to achieve this by:
1. IMPROVING YOUTH ACCESS & WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP
Reverse the Black and underrepresent youths unemployed ratio by providing access and collaborations through creating awareness and providing information to the youths needing them. Assisting and supporting in the process of making informed decisions about their careers and future prospects through providing need information and opportunities in the system.
2. CHANGING PERCEPTIONS & MINDSET
Addressing the cultural and historical disconnect among youths through education and re-education. Our experienced consultants will assist them refocus and encourage them to getting needed employment and training.
CAD youths unique selling point is the fact that we recognise the importance of embedding cultural awareness in our employability programs. This is crucial to Black and underrepresent youths in other to achieve engagement in the mainstream. We will work hard to tackle this problem which stems from a general lack of knowledge of stakeholders, while proving information and support to employers who may need change of mindset and perceptions.
3. PROMOTING EQUALITY, FAIRNESS & DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE
Gain equality of access and opportunity in the labour market for Black and underrepresent youths. Expose opportunities and support, that exist in the labour market for ex-offenders and promote anti-gang initiatives. Advocating for a second chance to ex-offenders through coaching, events, seminars and workshops.
4. ENABLING YOUTH ENTERPRISE, JOB OPPORTUNITIES AND APPRENTICESHIP
Train, assist, support and encourage the Black and underrepresent youths to pursue self-employment and expand their horizons beyond music, sport and entertainment.
CAD Youths will design and run general and tailor-made business start-up trainings including wraparound support strategy in other to increase the chances of success among Black and underrepresent youths’ entrepreneurs.
Working with Black and underrepresented youths to access opportunities in apprenticeships, skill education/training and job ethics.
Working with employers to better understand the benefits of diverse work force and needs of Black and underrepresented youths, values and cultural awareness.
5. REMOVING EMPLOYER STIGMA
We encourage employers to offer ex-offenders job opportunities. We will work with employers to prove needed training and address their concerns We believe that ex-offenders have paid the price of their offence through the court sentencing and should not serve a second sentence by the deprivation and frustration caused by societal stigma.
We encourage gang members to desire alternative better life to life of underachievement, imprisonment and death through our initiatives.
5. VOLUNTERING OPPOTUNITIES
Encouraging skill development among Black and underrepresented youths through volunteering. Using volunteering opportunities to focus and refocus youths on directions of choice and benefit to skill.
